Credit Controller
to join our Finance Team. This is a key role focused on ensuring strong cash flow, managing accounts receivable, and maintaining excellent relationships with both customers and suppliers.. You'll be working closely with internal stakeholders, including the Managing Director and CEO, to manage credit risk and payment performance effectively.
Responsibilities
Manage the credit control process from start to finish, ensuring timely collections of outstanding debts.
Upload supplier statements and payments into our bespoke financial software system.
Proactively chase outstanding or lower-than-expected payments from clients and suppliers.
Ensure all payments are received within 60 days of their expected payment date.
Prepare and present regular cash flow reports to the Managing Director and CEO, highlighting any shortfalls or areas of concern.
Maintain positive and professional relationships with suppliers, ensuring open lines of communication and issue resolution.
Keep the company CRM system up to date with all progress notes, status changes, and communication records.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to facilitate effective communication regarding payments.
Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue accounts through calls and emails.
Prepare regular reports on aged debtors and cash flow forecasts for management review.
Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with policies.
Identify potential credit risks and recommend appropriate actions to mitigate them.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Credit Controller or similar role in a financial environment.
Strong understanding of cash flow management and credit risk.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective client interactions.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to analyze financial data and make informed decisions regarding credit risks.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple accounts efficiently.
Confident communicator with the ability to build rapport and maintain strong working relationships.
Competent in using financial and CRM systems (experience with bespoke software is advantageous).
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
