Support the Data Centre Manager in running daily operations, ensuring the site is safe, secure, compliant, and delivering excellent service to clients. This role would be based in both our Reading data centres.



To provide support and assistance to external and internal Clients, ensuring that our client expectations are always met or exceeded. To work with the Data Centre Services team to ensure correct standards are adopted and provide training as required.

Key responsibilities:





Assist and deputise for the Data Centre Manager when required. Ensure the Data Centre is properly staffed and resourced at all times. Lead and coordinate incident resolution with clear, timely communication. Support project delivery and smooth handovers of client solutions. Maintain site compliance and report incidents or environmental data. Oversee site security and escalate issues promptly. Coach and mentor Data Centre Engineers to deliver high-quality service. Manage relationships with suppliers and contractors; monitor stock levels. Provide professional, proactive support to internal and external clients. Ensure all staff inductions and required training are completed. Keep records, databases, and reports accurate and up to date. Maintain building cleanliness, safety, and security to Pulsant standards. Log and respond to all system faults and support tickets efficiently. Follow incident escalation, health and safety, and compliance procedures. Monitor equipment and environment; escalate any service risks. Perform system monitoring and remote/smart hands support as needed. Manage third-party data centre operations and related client relationships.


What / who we're looking for:





Experience (Essential)Experience working as a Senior / Data Centre Support Engineer, or in a similar role Experience providing high levels of client service in an IT or similar industry
Experience (Desirable)High level of computer hardware troubleshooting experience High level of cabling and fibre experience including running and testing. Experience and awareness of Data Centre Mechanical & Electrical Infrastructure.
