Job Title: Senior Data Engineer

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Alderley Edge or Edinburgh

Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our leading insurance business. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and maintenance of our data infrastructure and architecture.



You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient data management and processing and contribute to the development of innovative data-driven solutions.



The successful candidate will possess a strong technical background, ideally with proficiency in:

a programming language (preferably Python). a data processing platform (Databricks, Spark, Snowflake). building CI/CD pipelines. In-depth knowledge of SQL.

About the role

Design and implement scalable and robust data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources. Evaluate and select appropriate tools and technologies to enhance data processing capabilities. Develop and maintain documentation on data integration processes, data flows, and data lineage. Implement and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy and integrity. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in data engineering, recommending, and adopting best practices.

About you

The successful candidate will be experienced in data engineering, with a focus on data pipeline development and data integration. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to analyse complex data sets and identify patterns and trends. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
