We are actively in pursuit of an accomplished Senior Data Engineer, poised to play a pivotal role in advancing our data landscape. This individual will be instrumental in orchestrating the design, stewardship, validation, and refinement of a diverse spectrum of data leveraging a comprehensive toolkit.

As the Senior Data Engineer, you\'ll take on the mantle of crafting the very architecture of data. Think data storage, intricate pipelines, and seamless integrations with the digital landscapes.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Conceive, construct, and validate data pipelines, a backbone for Digital projects
  • Craft intricate datasets catering to multifaceted applications and diverse teams across the organization
  • Innovate by identifying and executing enhancements in data pipelines. Automate manual tasks, scale seamlessly, and optimize both speed and efficiency
  • Fashion analytical tools that steer business decisions towards data-driven excellence
  • Immerse yourself in the intricacies of data, forging models, report templates, and dynamic solutions that yield substantial value
  • Be the beacon of guidance, supporting domain analysts and citizen data engineers with technical finesse in designated domains
WHAT YOU WILL NEED

A strong command of data engineering tools, languages, and technologies is crucial. This includes expertise in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, along with proficiency in SQL and both relational and non-relational databases. Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data pipeline frameworks is vital.

The ability to design and architect complex data models and data ecosystems is paramount. Senior Data Engineers should possess a deep understanding of data structures, storage systems, and data governance principles.

We are looking for experience within leading and mentoring junior team members. Effective leadership skills, including the ability to guide, inspire, and delegate, are essential for nurturing a collaborative and productive team environment.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Proven ability to lead small teams in technical assignments
  • Previous experience working in a team in one of the following functions; data analytics, software or application development, database development
  • Experience in designing data models/data architecture
  • Previous experience and knowledge of modern programming languages & scripts
  • Python or Java development experience
  • GCP, AWS, or Azure technical understanding and experience
  • SQL development and experience in relational or no-SQL databases
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Previously working in an Agile project management environment using Scrum
