The role



As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll design and deliver advanced data solutions with a focus on finance, legal, regulatory, and compliance needs. Collaborating with stakeholders, you'll manage the full data lifecycle, ensuring solutions meet business and regulatory requirements. Your role will emphasize data quality and accuracy for financial reporting and compliance. You'll also design scalable data architectures, develop efficient integration pipelines, and establish robust environments for streamlined reporting and governance.



Key responsibilities



Develop and maintain robust and efficient data solutions and products that includes data integration, data transformation, data modelling and reporting.

Work with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, document them as GAPs by aligning them with Architects

Develop sophisticated reporting solutions that provide compelling narratives and actionable insights, with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and driving the adoption of generative AI to enable intuitive self-service analytics.

Enhance data engineering processes through automation, implementing CI/CD pipelines, and optimizing ETL/ELT flows to improve efficiency and maintainability.

Initiates and experiments with new ideas and approaches that support A&I strategy.

Champion best development and QA practices, ensuring the team adheres to established data standards and continuously improves quality.

Supports training of new Data Engineering team members and proactively looks for ways to share their knowledge

Proactively support and maintain data products, including handling code reviews, release management, troubleshooting incidents, and providing on-call support as necessary

Ensure that you, and your team, adhere to the Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) obligations within your direct responsibility and control.

Ensure any non-compliance incidents within your team are raised through the appropriate channels (Compliance Incidents Process) and that your team are informed of any reporting processes relevant to them.

Challenge processes, policies and projects that will negatively impact compliance within the Group.

Ensure your team's completion of all mandatory compliance trainings within the set deadline.

Reach out to the Compliance Teams if unsure of any of your compliance obligations or the requirements are unclear.



Skills, knowledge, and experience:



Strong data engineering background in designing and implementing data applications and products.

Preferably 5+ years working with data.

Experience working with data and Oracle Databases (12c and above) in a Developer / Analyst Role using Oracle SQL and PLSQL

Implementation of ETL processes and data structure.

Experience with tuning of SQL queries, reports, and processes.

Experience with AWS services like S3, Redshift, and Lambda for data storage and computation

Knowledge of open-source tools like Airflow, DBT and Airbyte

Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, AWS Quicksight

Experience with engineering best practices applied to data e.g., testing, CI/CD

Good attitude and willingness to learn new skills and technologies.
