About the role



We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Data Manager to join the Oncology Clinical Trials Office (OCTO). OCTO, part of the University of Oxford's Department of Oncology, is a leader in early cancer detection, precision prevention and therapy trials, delivering groundbreaking clinical research.

As the Senior Data Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that data collection systems and data management activities are appropriately designed, implemented, maintained, or developed to support the collection of high-quality clinical trial data sets for analysis, publication, and, where appropriate, future data sharing. Data from multiple sources needs to be integrated in an efficient and compliant way that supports appropriate monitoring, decision making and reporting across the OCTO portfolio. You will work closely with OCTO staff, staff within the Department of Oncology, OCTRU Hub teams, statisticians, as well as external collaborators and service providers.

This post is based at the Cancer and Haematology Centre, Churchill Hospital, and it is offered on a full-time, fixed-term basis for 3 years in the first instance.

An early start date is essential for this role.

This position offers the opportunity for hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.

About you



You will be educated to degree level or equivalent in an IT or life sciences subject, with demonstrable experience in data management and information governance within clinical trials, including CTIMPs, in a sponsor organisation. You will have experience of implementing approaches to ensure compliance with high standards of GCP, the requirements of UK clinical trials and data protection legislation, and will have experience of developing and delivering training in relation to data management and integrity. You will have extensive experience in developing, testing, and implementing trial data management systems, including CRFs (e.g. OpenClinica, REDCap). Previous experience of experience of clinical trials in oncology and/or working in a UKCRC Registered CTU is highly desirable.
