CamdenBoss are a leading electronics enclosure solutions provider, focusing on design, manufacture and assembly of both fabricated and injection moulded plastic enclosures. Camdenboss have a vast product portfolio, ranging from electro-mechanical components, connectors, off the shelf and custom enclosures. Employing a team of 100 people in a fantastic under-one-roof manufacturing facility in Mildenhall, with onsite injection moulding and fabrication capabilities as well as a sizeable high-bay warehouse. CamdenBoss is on an exciting growth mission - focusing on UK manufacture of new products and expansion of existing services.

The Role



Reporting to the Head of Technical, the Senior Design Engineer / Supervisor will join the existing design team and focus on design of products both for customer specific projects, and internal product development. The Engineer will take ownership of designs and will drive these through conception, CAD, prototyping and verification. As the role will be focused on designing product solutions, the candidate will need to be able to understand electrical/electronic aspects as well as system integration.

Responsibilities:



Lead and support the design and development of injection moulded and plastic fabricated enclosures, from concept through production, creating 3D models and engineering drawings. Working on a variety of projects, able to adapt quickly to evolving requirements and schedules, whilst maintaining focus on delivering sound engineering solutions Manage and ensure projects are delivered on time, to budget and specification with the team Complete & oversee design changes (ECRs) in line with processes Collaborate with suppliers (toolmakers, material suppliers) and customers to ensure CamdenBoss delivers to expectations Collaborate with internal stakeholders (production, planning, purchasing and sales) to ensure project development Participates/lead design reviews (Peer Reviews and DFMEA), providing constructive feedback and creative ideas to enhance designs Use MRP system to generate and manage BOM's effectively across the business

Qualifications:



Engineering/Design qualification (BEng/BSc, HND, HNC, BTEC or similar)

Skills:



Experienced user of 3D CAD systems (Solid Edge preferred, SolidWorks) Demonstrable experience of product design and drawing creation / team supervision management Thorough understanding of a variety of engineering thermoplastics for both injection moulding, customisation and machining processes Ability to communicate/present technical information concisely and to a non-technical audience Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of DFM, cost analysis and team dynamics Thorough understanding and practitioner of DFMEA, PFMEA and DQ processes Ability to conceptualise, design and verify product to customer specifications & validate for others Ability to effectively interact within external tool makers and internal stakeholders Peer review of moulded designs Effective management and prioritisation of tasks / projects across a team
