Taylor Woodrow are currently recruiting for an experienced Design Manager to work on the exciting new HS2 Station - Old Oak Common. This role will provide the opportunity to work on a monumental part of the HS2 project!

Duties
Manage and coordinate all design-related activities across architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
Ensure that designs meet project specifications, building codes, regulations, and client requirements.
Facilitate collaboration between architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors.
Develop and monitor the design program in line with the overall project schedule.
Identify design deliverables and ensure timely submission of drawings and documents.
Plan design milestones and critical path activities.
Liaise with clients, consultants, authorities, and internal teams to align on design intent and approvals.
Organize and chair design meetings and workshops.
Present design updates to stakeholders and resolve any conflicts.
Identify design-related risks early and develop mitigation strategies.
Monitor compliance with health & safety, sustainability, and building regulations.
Work with estimators and quantity surveyors to ensure designs are cost-effective.
Support value engineering exercises to reduce costs without compromising on quality.
Review and approve design changes or variations.
Ensure the design output aligns with quality standards and project specifications.
Review and check design documents, drawings, and specifications for completeness and accuracy.
Provide design clarifications during construction.
Monitor design implementation on-site, addressing RFI (Request for Information) and shop drawing reviews.
Ensure "As-Built" drawings and documentation are prepared.
