About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Design Service Manager based in Shelton (Shropshire) or Raynesway (Derby). In this role, you'll lead and manage the contracts with our framework design consultants to meet Severns Trent's programme and standards. Your role is to drive innovation and effective design solutions, manage project deliverables and facilitate collaboration between hydraulic modellers, designers, internal stakeholders and our wider supply chain to achieve optimal outcomes and uphold safety and sustainability. This role requires close liaison with the Project Management and Commercial Teams.
Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership which supports the Severn Trent values and mission. Upholds the ethos of collaboration and trust. Promotes a mindset that values creativity and welcomes different perspectives.
• Demonstrates the ability to remain decisive under pressure by prioritising key decisions, remain focused, setting deadlines and delegating effectively.
• Engage with other technical experts to develop the scoping documents and align to Severn Trent 5 year Asset Management Plan (AMP). Define key deliverables, including stage gate packs and Principal Design deliverables required from design consultant, dates and milestones.
• Procurement: Familiar with framework agreements, Direct Award and Tendering Process to appoint framework consultants. Review tender estimates with the Commercial and Project Management team.
• Manage the design services to be compliant with the NEC4 Professional Services Agreements and the Framework, through feasibility, outline design and possibly detail design. Apply knowledge of project management and design expertise to influence design delivery.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING
You'll be degree qualified (desirable) and showing your professional commitment as a member of one of the engineering Institutions or actively working towards incorporated or chartered status, a journey which we are keen to support you on.
Having water industry background would be great but not essential however experience in treatment processes with a civil, mechanical or process background would be beneficial.
You will have excellent internal and external stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of people. You will be a forward-thinking innovator, capable of anticipating challenges and responding to change in a rapidly evolving environment. A full UK driving licence will be required.
