Role Purpose



The Senior Designer is responsible for leading high-value bespoke furniture sales and creating interior design concepts from initial client engagement through to project management handover. This position plays a critical role in achieving sales targets, delivering exceptional design solutions, and maintaining Brownlow's reputation for premium, handcrafted, bespoke furniture. The Senior Designer will manage client relationships, design development, quoting and costing, spatial planning, technical detailing, and support overall commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities



1. Sales & Commercial Performance



Achieve agreed

sales targets

and contribute to overall departmental revenue. Produce accurate, timely

quotes and costings

for new work, ensuring margins align with company financial objectives. Take an active interest in Brownlow's commercial performance, including

profit margins

, pricing strategy, and project financial outcomes. Identify opportunities to upsell or maximise value on existing and new projects.

2. Client Engagement & Relationship Management



Serve as the primary contact for clients on high-value, complex projects. Conduct

initial consultations, design meetings, showroom appointments

, and progress updates. Liaise professionally with third parties including architects, interior designers, contractors, and suppliers. Maintain exceptional client satisfaction through clear communication, responsiveness, and solution-focused support.

3. Project & Design Delivery



Own and lead

new projects of high status, complexity, or value, ensuring they meet design, quality, and commercial expectations. Carry out

measure-ups and second measure-ups

at client sites, producing accurate surveys for manufacture drawings and installation compatibility. Produce high-quality

spatial layouts, bespoke furniture designs, interior schemes, material specifications, and electrical proposals

. Initially lead project management tasks including design sign-off, project management handover, on-site coordination, and client communications. Support operations and fitting teams to ensure design intent is achieved in manufacture and installation. Ensure all designs comply with internal processes, practical constraints, manufacturability, and installation requirements. Work closely with the workshop and installations team to resolve technical challenges and optimise design solutions.

5. Team Leadership & Collaboration



Support the design team, offering guidance, feedback, and supportive critique when required. Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes, standards, and tools. Work collaboratively across departments including Operations, Installation and Finance to ensure seamless project delivery and exceptional client service.

Skills & Experience Required



Essential:



Proven experience in a

senior-level design role

within bespoke furniture, interiors, cabinetry, or luxury residential design. Strong portfolio demonstrating high-end, detailed bespoke design work. Proficient in CAD and design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Fusion 360, or equivalent. Excellent client-facing and communication skills. High level of accuracy in

measure-ups, documentation, and technical detailing

. Strong commercial awareness with experience in

quoting, costing, and margin analysis

. Ability to manage multiple high-value projects simultaneously.

Desirable:



Experience working closely with workshops, cabinet makers, or installation teams. Knowledge of materials, finishes, hardware systems, and premium product specifications. Understanding of luxury market expectations and customer journeys.

Salary & Benefits

Pay: 40,000.00-60,000.00 per year
