In our DevOps team, we lead the way in defining the best of new technology offerings, working closely with our Engineering Leads to collectively drive the tooling agenda whilst balancing the requirements of the UKs leading retail bank. The Senior DevOps Engineer will hold accountability for design, implementation, maintenance and support of DevOps pipelines, tooling/automation at a Feature/Lab team level. This will include recommending the right pipeline and tooling choices appropriate for their Feature/Lab accountabilities, in line with Group Strategy
What you'll do
Spread your time spread among short term support-related tasks, longer-term initiatives, problem-solving, optimising, forecasting, planning and personal development, as well as leading others.
Collaborate with Engineering teams across the Transport Platform, and the wider LBG, to develop effective solutions.
Take ownership of specific problems to deliver customer focused outcomes.
Contribute to DevOps strategy both within the Corporate Lab and Transport Platform.
Collaborate with DevOps Engineers from across Lloyds Banking Group to promote best practice amongst us all and contribute the central toolsets and practices.
Promote and advance the capabilities and awareness of DevOps across the Transport Platform.
What you'll need:
Knowledge of and some hands-on experience of the entire pipeline and supporting tooling, Git, Nexus, Jenkins, Docker, SonarQube, Ansible, and Terraform.
Good knowledge and experience of agile development practices, continuous integration and delivery for fast and secure route to live
Good understanding of Cloud (ideally Google Cloud), including implementation of Kubernetes, and Micro Service Architecture.
Good understanding of infrastructure as code practises, as well as secure by design priniciples
Hand on experience in shell scripting (Bash, PowerShell, etc)
Be able to communicate effectively and work together, building relationship with others across a variety of domains, fields and locations, but also be able to work autonomously and proactively.
Good skills on knowledge management, as well as mentoring and training others in various DevOps based skills
Passion for technology and its application to real-world problems, such as software automation and delivery.
And any experience of these would be really useful:
Knowledge of Harness (CI/CD Tool).
Experience in automation of testing tools, examples like OWASP ZAP, aXe, and Playwright.
Knowledge and experience in the development of ReactJS and/or .Net based applications
