This is a unique opportunity to help guide and implement the newest phase of the Premier League's digital content strategy.

The Senior Digital Content Manager will be a key member of the team responsible for developing and delivering a new direction for the Premier League's channels. This person will embrace the challenge of reaching and engaging new audiences in a rapidly evolving landscape, harnessing new technology, changing consumption patterns and industry trends to ensure the Premier League thrives in a fast-changing future.



The Senior Digital Content Manager will deliver high-impact, story-centric output across all Premier League outputs, working closely with colleagues across the digital team to drive and foster a strong and positive network effect that places the right content, delivered in the right medium, on the right channels, and to the right audience.

The right candidate will have a forensic understanding of both the Premier League's current digital offerings and the wider digital content ecosystem, with a strong and proven ability to deliver impactful, meaningful content across multiple mediums in a fast-paced, always-on environment.###

The role





In this exciting new role, you will work with the editorial commissioning team at the Premier League to help form and deliver the Premier League's future-facing content strategy, maximising impact and cut-through across all platforms and mediums.

The ideal candidate will ensure the Premier League's content is of the highest standard and meets fans on their terms, harnessing a network of contributors and experts to identify and bring to life storytelling across the league in an intelligent, responsible and expedite fashion.

Your role will include that the Premier League's vision and direction are clearly communicated and understood by all stakeholders, enriching the league's output and helping to foster the growth and development of the core editorial team.

This role will involve, but is not limited to, the following duties:
Contribute to the overall Premier League digital strategy, with a particular focus on creative vision and quality to evolve the Premier League's content proposition to stay ahead of shifting audience needs and behaviours Help define and communicate the editorial vision and overarching direction, both to stakeholders and to the core editorial team Strong leadership skills - helping to lead a small but expert team, motivating others to do their best work and embedding new workflows that help to develop a new roster of talent Ensure that content is commissioned based on clear analysis of target audience needs and ensure a rigorous application of insight to drive further evaluation and innovation Extensive experience in journalistic storytelling, with the skill to find new angles or transform what fans are already talking about into entertaining, resonant content tailored to the platform and mediums it is delivered on Co-lead in developing and sustaining an invigorated team of contributors and experts, continually identifying and nurturing a strong, original and diverse network to uplift the Premier League's overall output Proven editorial judgement Substantial experience managing editorial and operational staff in a daily news environment Strong understanding of digital publishing, including publishing flows between Owned and Operated channels Demonstrable skills of the intersection of Owned and Operated (social) platforms to develop a cohesive and connected publishing strategy Practical knowledge of SEO best practices and application Highly skilled communicator, helping to confidently drive collaboration across all areas of the Premier League

Requirements for the role





Substantial experience of journalism and story-centric production for digital platforms and channels, with demonstrable visionary leadership in the media ecosystem Ability to define and clearly communicate an innovative and inspiring editorial vision Proven experience in successfully setting out and delivering a clear long-term creative vision A comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape including the wider industry trends and creative movement Proven ability to drive content that will connect with all audiences and reach new ones in a multi genre ecosystem Demonstrable experience in commissioning, production and distribution within a newsroom-style setting, balancing impartial judgement with creative flair and delivery A strong record of creative innovation and curiosity, and embracing modern approaches and technological advances to creativity and distribution Experience of managing multiple outputs and mediums including vertical video and audio Proven and demonstrable people leadership skills Exceptional communication skills Strong online experience and digital journalism skills and an understanding of digital content, SEO, and how to make content for different audiences Collaborative and open-minded team player with the confidence to deal with senior internal and external figures Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external teams, including presenting to technical and non-technical forums Excellent and adaptable writing ability and presenting skills Meticulous attention to detail
