Role overview | Context
Our Product and Tech organization currently includes the following core functional pillars:

  • Core Network - Engineering Leader ( This role - to be hired ), Product Leader ( Shaun Puckrin )
  • Responsible for expanding our global payments network by enabling us to offer new payment methods and operate in new geographies
  • Finance and Treasury Services - Engineering Leader ( Ben Leah ), Product Leader ( Venkat Iyer )
  • Building a transparent and accessible financial ecosystem that unlocks value for our customers
  • Merchant Experience - Engineering Leader ( Eric Matteson ), Product Leader ( Noam Ben Haim )
  • Delivering an empowering customer experience that enables businesses, and their communities to onboard, integrate and operate every CKO product, quickly and securely
  • Payment Services - Engineering Leader ( Mariano Albera ), Product Leader ( Shaun Puckrin )
  • Providing merchants with the best payment experience by delivering the highest performance, and easy-to-integrate and feature-rich payment processing products
  • Risk and Identity - Engineering Leader ( Avi Golan ), Product Leader ( Ido Lustig )
  • Keeping CKO and its merchants safe, compliant, and informed to enable growth
Reporting into our VP Engineering, Mariano Albera , we are looking for a new engineering leader to own our Core Network team and function. This is a highly visible and critical component of Checkout.com\'s Engineering infrastructure - fundamentally underpinning our ability to onboard and offer new payment methods, and to support merchants in new geographies.
The Core Network team is positioned at the nexus of many significant efforts contributing to CKO\'s overall mission - enabling businesses and their communities to thrive, globally. We are looking for an Engineering leader who will be comfortable balancing technical and strategic decision-making, whilst being hands-on when needed and leading a growing team of 50+.
Role overview | Remit and Responsibilities
As the Engineering leader for Core Networks Engineering, you will be responsible for:
  • Helping merchants to migrate onto new rails and operating platforms
  • Fuelling Checkout\'s geographic expansion by enabling us to onboard merchants in new regions
  • Delivering new and different payment methods to merchants
  • Reducing the disparity between different processing options offered to merchants
  • Leading, inspiring, and growing the current team and being an advocate and change agent in helping us to promote diversity and inclusion at all levels
  • Partnering closely not just with the direct product counterpart owning the vision for our Core Network, but also with other Product and Engineering stakeholders e.g. from our Merchant Experience team; to ensure that platform delivery and expansion goes hand-in-hand with a game-winning experience for developers, merchants and users alike
Qualifications

Role overview | Desired Background, Core Competencies
The ideal candidate for the role will bring:
  • Experience in Payments, FinTech or broader FS is preferred - either from a B2B, B2C or two-sided-marketplace perspective
  • Experience being technically hands-on as a SW Developer/Engineer and able to lead Engineering reports with a high degree of empathy
  • Experience building and shipping technically complex products and/or services end-to-end
  • An understanding of how to build and support scalable technical infrastructure in critical business areas
  • Experience working in a Design, Engineering & Product triangle and partnering closely with multiple cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Experience with KPI-driven process automation and able to take teams on a journey to increase automation, security and efficiency
  • A proven track record of building, scaling and leading exceptional, diverse and engaged Engineering teams
