The
Senior Director of Product Management
is responsible for building and leading a high performing team that turns our company strategy into action, in the form of products and offerings that deliver on our strategic vision of advancing human health by accelerating the next generation therapies.
This position reports to the VP of Product & Strategy and is part of the Product & Strategy Team located in Woking and will be an on-site role.
Core responsibilities:
Support the IDBS leadership team in formulating and articulating our product strategy, by providing informed market & customer insight, market segmentation, competitive intelligence as well as IDBS product positioning and performance.
Coordinate the realization of product strategy by maintaining an innovation funnel and roadmap for new product development, through management of the full product lifecycle:
New product ideation, business case development as well as gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements.
Successful launches via effective product positioning, marketing & sales enablement, field education and pricing strategies.
Product sunsetting and depreciation.
Deliver annual objectives for existing product lines including revenue, customer health & retention, quality, and successful new product commercialization. Lead cross-functional problem solving when performance is not meeting targets. Create a "lean" culture to accelerate the pace of innovation and a predictable cadence of software releases that incorporate voice of customer into IDBS' products. Actively develop and promote the adoption of tools and processes for continuous improvement, the release of high quality, and systems that simplify customer deployment to reduce time to customer value.
Explore, evaluate, and establish technology partnerships with external companies and vendors to accelerate new product innovation.
Work in close collaboration with the leadership in Engineering, Quality & Regulatory, Professional Services, Marketing and Sales teams. Ensure effective information flow between our customers, customer facing organization and our product and engineering teams.
Build and develop a Product Management team in accordance with Danaher's Leadership Anchors and best practice to ensure a highly motivated and effective team where talent is retained, and succession strategies developed and executed. Champion a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Enable the Product & Strategy organization with tools, processes and structure that realize IDBS' growth ambition.
Continue our work in building a culture of psychological safety within the team and across other functions that the Product team collaborates with (including Engineering, Sales, Operations, GPS). Lead by example to ensure the attraction, development and retention of a diverse team where all associates can thrive is a core mindset across the Product & Strategy team.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Extensive experience in product strategy, product management or product marketing within a life science or scientific software organization.
Experience in managing a product management team.
Proficiency with industry standard tools and agile processes to support the product lifecycle of a modern Cloud-based, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) product line.
Demonstrable domain knowledge of the software platforms, data management and data processing practise that support laboratory workflows used in BioPharma drug discovery and development.
An ideal candidate will have a strong interest and working knowledge of platforms that leverage generative artificial intelligence and large language models, and experience implementing these tools within a commercial setting.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
