We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Senior Early Years Practitioner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental milestones through engaging activities and personalised care. Duties
Plan and deliver age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development
Supervise children during playtimes, meals, and rest periods, ensuring their safety at all times
Foster a warm, inclusive environment that encourages curiosity and independence
Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily activities
Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding their child's development and behaviour
Support colleagues in organising daily routines and special events within the nursery or preschool setting
Uphold health and safety standards in accordance with regulatory guidelines
Assist with administrative tasks related to childcare management when required
Demonstrate leadership by guiding less experienced staff or interns as needed
Support the manager with the day to day running of the setting
Experience
Proven experience working with children in a nursery, preschool, or childcare setting (at least 2 years in a managerial position)
Strong management and leadership skills to oversee daily operations effectively
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Experience with child development assessments and planning educational programmes
Previous experience with childcare management systems or record keeping is advantageous
HNC in Early Education and must hold a BA in Childhood Practice or be working towards.
