Granny Smith's Nursery has been established in Troon town centre since 1989. The early years nursery school caters for children between the ages of 6 weeks and 8 years. There is space for 60 children at any one time.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate Early Years Senior Practitioner to join our team in providing high-quality care and education to young children, as well as undertaking a leadership role within the room. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, possess excellent communication skills, and be dedicated to creating a nurturing learning environment.

Duties:

- To undertake a leadership role within the nursery setting working in partnership with the playroom practitioners

- Plan and implement engaging and age-appropriate activities for children

- Provide a safe and supportive environment for children to learn and play

- Monitor and assess children's development and progress

- Collaborate with parents and caregivers to support each child's individual needs

- Maintain a clean and organised nursery setting

- Demonstrate strong leadership skills in guiding and supervising children

- Drive continuous improvement in educational practices

Requirements:

- Qualified to level 4 (BA Childhood Practice level 6 preferable)

- Ability to lead a team of practitioners

- Experience working with young children in an early childhood education setting

- Hold relevant qualifications in childcare or early years education

- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and colleagues

- Ability to manage a playroom of young learners effectively

- Demonstrated leadership qualities in guiding and supporting children's development
