Lydgate Junior and Infant School is a multi-ethnic school that lies at the heart of a supportive and diverse community in Soothill, Batley.


Following the imminent retirement of our well established and a highly effective learning mentor, we wish to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic learning mentor to be a part of our committed team and support our pupils' learning. The ideal candidate will have proven experience of working in this role.

We are looking for someone who:

Is self-motivated, dynamic and proactive

Has excellent communication skills including with parents

Has high expectations of behaviour

Is able to lead on lunchtime provision

Is knowledgeable about barriers to learning and how to address them

Is able to create bespoke solutions for the children

Can build positive relationships with children and staff

Is able to work well as part of a team.

The ability to relate to children/young people from diverse backgrounds is essential for this job, as well as having good verbal and written communication skills in order to liaise with children, parents and staff.
