Our client is known for delivering tailored engineering solutions across a wide range of sectors, underpinned by deep project experience and technical expertise. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their dynamic team.
About the Role:
This is a key role in the electrical design team, where you'll be leading electrical services design across various projects--from concept through to on-site completion. You'll also support senior management in mentoring junior engineers, managing project timelines, and ensuring smooth client collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of electrical systems to current codes and industry standards
Produce engineering reports and perform detailed calculations
Create 2D and 3D design drawings and compile technical specifications
Coordinate electrical systems with other disciplines, such as mechanical engineering
Carry out quality checks and design reviews to ensure top-tier project delivery
Mentor and delegate tasks to junior engineers
Represent the consultancy professionally at client and design team meetings
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
HNC or higher in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent professional experience)
Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical design
Strong knowledge of BS7671 wiring regulations, LV cable calculations, lighting/emergency lighting design, fire alarm and security/intruder alarm systems
Proficient in AutoCAD, Dialux or Relux, and Trimble Pro Design
Effective communication and time management skills, with the ability to work independently or within a multi-disciplinary team
Solid problem-solving abilities and understanding of quality management principles
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Experience in sectors such as commercial, healthcare, defence, industrial, and multi-residential
Knowledge of sustainable/energy-efficient design principles
Familiarity with Autodesk Revit
Strong presentation and mentoring skills
