Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Estates and Technical Services team on an interim basis. This role is central to shaping and delivering electrical and specialist systems strategy across the estate.
Key responsibilities:

• Provide strategic direction and technical advice on electrical and specialist systems.
• Act as design champion, ensuring design standards are maintained and reviewed.
• Support Project Managers and Estates Maintenance teams on system design, operation, maintenance, and safety.
• Undertake inspections and audits to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
• Provide specialist expertise to maintain compliance across a High Voltage network.
• Engage with government, judicial, and advisory bodies to share best practice and align standards.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Degree in a relevant Electrical Engineering discipline.
• Membership of a relevant professional body.
• Strong track record in electrical and specialist systems design, management, and delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Experience developing strategic responses to estates and infrastructure needs.

Desirable Experience:

• Qualified as a Senior Authorised Person (High Voltage), authorised for switching and isolation.
• Specialist knowledge of High Voltage compliance in complex estates.
• Experience in setting and monitoring technical design standards and driving improvements.

Security Clearance
Applicants must undergo:

• Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) checks, and
• A Level 2 Disclosure Check (to be completed before placement start date).
