This is a strong opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a growing multidisciplinary building services team in Oxford. You will play a key role in delivering electrical engineering solutions on complex and technically demanding projects across sectors such as science, research, healthcare, education, commercial, and advanced manufacturing.

The position is well-suited to someone who is confident in handling both technical delivery and client engagement. You will contribute to concept development, detailed design, project coordination and delivery oversight while helping to strengthen the technical capability within the office. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will have the opportunity to work on both UK and international schemes that require innovation, precision and strong engineering judgement.

This role offers the scope to influence project direction, contribute to team development, and take responsibility for the quality and consistency of electrical design output.

Key Responsibilities



Lead electrical services design on large or technically complex building projects, ensuring solutions meet client expectations, regulatory standards and project constraints
Take responsibility for the development of concept designs, technical reports, calculations, drawings and specifications
Coordinate closely with mechanical engineers, sustainability specialists, digital engineering teams and wider design partners to deliver integrated design solutions
Attend and actively contribute to design team meetings, client briefings, workshops and site reviews
Work directly with clients to interpret project briefs, clarify technical requirements and ensure expectations are well-managed
Manage project workloads, including planning tasks, forecasting requirements, supporting fee monitoring and maintaining delivery against programme
Host and chair internal project meetings where required, ensuring clear communication and alignment across the team
Review technical outputs to maintain quality, compliance and consistency
Support and mentor apprentices, graduates and developing engineers, contributing to their technical and professional growth
Identify opportunities for process improvement, digital enhancement and more efficient ways of delivering design work

What You Need



Proven experience delivering electrical building services designs across a range of complex projects
Strong understanding of electrical systems including LV distribution, lighting, power, life safety systems and associated infrastructure
Proficiency with modern design tools such as Revit, BIM platforms, Dialux, Relux and Electrical OM
Experience working collaboratively with contractors, architects, project managers and multidisciplinary teams
Ability to interpret client requirements, translate briefs into deliverable solutions and manage technical expectations
Solid knowledge of relevant standards, regulations and industry best practice
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, workloads and deadlines simultaneously
Clear communication skills, confidence presenting information and the ability to develop effective working relationships
A proactive, open-minded and collaborative approach, with a commitment to delivering high-quality engineering outcomes.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: 38,500.00-44,500.00 per year
