Job Description

Escape Recruitment is currently seeking a talented and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer on behalf of our client in Fife. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading company in the industry and contribute to their subsea/offshore systems development. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will oversee and lead scopes related to electrical and fiber optic cable and its terminations, maintain design rules, lead R&D projects, consult on new cable designs, and support supplier qualification and new product assessments.

The Role

• Perform conceptual and detailed design work, engineering calculations, and analysis for the development of subsea/offshore systems, including Low, Medium, and High voltage cables.
• Review the work carried out by other Electrical Engineers.
• Prepare technical procedures for assembly, testing, and operations.
• Study, interpret, and implement requirements from industry codes and regulatory authorities.
• Create Qualification Test Plans/Reports compliant with industry standards for New Product Development.
• Conduct Power/Electromagnetic Analysis of Low Voltage/Medium Voltage/High Voltage Systems as per industry standards.
• Perform Transmission Line studies, Load Flow Analysis, Interactive Current/Thermal studies, and prepare technical reports.
• Collaborate with Sales/Proposals Engineering and Project Engineering & Management to support bids.
• Interface with internal and external Clients to define requirements and provide technical solutions.
• Develop professional relationships with key vendors in the electrical/fiber optic cable discipline and contribute to design and procurement process improvements.
• Work with sub-contractors and personnel to qualify splicing techniques.
• Evaluate and source testing and manufacturing equipment.
• Support global supply chain in assessing and qualifying new suppliers, materials, and products.
• Lead or participate in strategic development projects to reduce overall COPQ, decrease cost, and improve throughput.
• Promote and adhere to a strong culture of safety, actively managing and promoting HSE policies and practices.

The Candidate

• Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Non-degree candidates with relevant experience may also be considered.
• Strong understanding of electrical cable design, specifications, and manufacturing.
• Ability to read, analyse, and interpret electrical schematics, technical procedures/reports, regulations, and industry specifications.
• Proficiency in writing technical procedures, reports, and business correspondence.
• Excellent presentational, oral, and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with industry codes such as API 17E, ICEA S-95-658, ISO 13628-5, IEC 60502, IEC 60840, IEC 63026, etc.
• Experience in Process Improvement and Product Development.
• Familiarity with Electrical Analysis Tools (Cable design, thermal and electromagnetic analysis).
