Job Description

The Project Lead engineer is responsible for Engineering of jobs awarded to company and is required to provide support and tasking direction to the discipline engineers, sourcing and sub-contractors for ensuring deliveries compliant to the contractual specifications as well as the applicable codes & standards. Planning engineering tasks, assignment and collaboration within the project engineering team. Primary link between Project Manager and discipline engineers for all engineering design documentation.

The Lead Engineer manages assigned technical work force, ensures compliances to applicable codes & standards and adherence to QMS. High focus on On time delivery, first time right and customer satisfaction.

In depth understanding of the UK standards is must. Also responsible for Project compliance and adhering Safety-First culture. Responsible for lesson learnt on the job are translated into best practices implementation.

Well versed with all functions required for delivering projects and solutions, well acquainted with sourcing, design & engineering, project management, production aspects.

In our facility in Leicester we offer our end to end project management that includes all steps from concept engineering, construction to commissioning and lifecycle services. Key responsibilities

Leading project execution from technical perspective. Ensure performance improvement on customer satisfaction, Cycle Time improvement, safety, quality, delivery, productivity, support cost minimizing without compromising on engineering deliverable compliance to customer specifications.


Acts as technical interface with customers and suppliers:

Establish professional relationships.


participate in progressive project review meetings with client.


Support PM on project plan, schedule, track budgets allocated
Leading the assigned project and assigned technical resources:

Leading and verifying the conceptual design for the basic engineering (P&ID, system Architecture, Layout, FDS, ...).


Monitor and control assigned work scope against the project plan, ensures effective change control and identifies risks / opportunities.


Develop and execute Project Engineering on specifications in accordance to the project scope and specifications with in the estimated / allocated budget. Drive project deliveries to achieve project productivity on cost / schedule.


Ensure that the engineered solution meets project requirements in terms of functionality, standards, quality, and supporting documentation and implementation process at minimum cost by allocating work assignments to project team fully utilizing standard builds & standardized work.


Ensure continuous improvement of best engineering practices in accordance to the applicable design standards. Ensure adaption of lessons learnt from other projects and adaptions of the best practices of custody metering skid fabrication business. Maintain performance levels stated by executive management committee
Dedicated E&I discipline tasks:

Design & specify electrical cabinets, systems and electrical equipment. Check and approve engineering documents, i.e. P&ID, wiring diagrams, commissioning manual, production procedures. Prepare and/or review RFQ packages. Perform technical bid evaluation. Support/execute Commissioning & start up
Quality & Safety:

Establish safe work practice and company policies and continuously improve the site safety culture and meet / exceed all Health, safety, and Environment key performance matrices.


Adherence to QMS, Collaborate with Quality & Project manager on engineering deliverables

Key skills and qualifications

BS or BA degree in Instrumentation / Electrical / Electronic / or equivalent.

Min 5 years' experience in similar role in process control industry
Experienced with UK Design approval process G17/PS6

Strong knowledge in Primary measuring instruments (Flow Meters, specifically Ultrasonic Flowmeter), Secondary measuring instruments (PT, TT etc.), Flow Computer (FC), Gas Chromatograph (GC), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), SCADA, Flow & Energy Calculation (AGA, ISO standards)


In depth knowledge flow measurement and regulating gases


Fully conversant with the technical requirements (UK Gas Network specifications) and the applicable UK codes and standards
Successful leadership.

Solution and conceptual oriented thinking
Ability to analyze complex problems and arrive at sound solutions

Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment
Language skills: Fluent English.

Strong written and oral communication skills
