Department Overview

The PPSD mission is to maintain, enhance and protect the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s environment and to provide excellent services for Bank staff. In addition to maintaining and securing the Bank premises

PPSD has responsibility for delivering a c\xc2\xa311mn property investment portfolio, business continuity, health & safety, events, facilities (switchboard, help desk and reception), catering, cleaning, post and travel whilst ensuring value for money is achieved in all Bank wide procurements.
The Bank exists to ensure monetary stability and to contribute to financial stability. PPSD ensure that the infrastructures required to support the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s critical functions are maintained and enhanced.

The Team
As a Senior Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will become an integral part of our Operations and Maintenance team; working a shift pattern of (4 on 3 off, 3 on 1 off, 3 on 3 off, and 4 on 7 off) across 4 weeks; for which you will receive an additional shift allowance.

Presently, there are 4 teams of 5 made up of a Team leader, and a mix of Senior maintenance technicians and Maintenance Technicians. This position is a Senior Electrical Maintenance Technician role. The work consists of a mixture of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM\xe2\x80\x99s) and reactive/ breakdowns working to agreed SLA\xe2\x80\x99s.

The Role

Electrical Maintenance Technician, responsible for the delivery of planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance and project tasks allocated to self, ensuring all work is completed in accordance to agreed methods, risk assessments, SLAs and customer service standards.

The role holders will be part of the team delivering electrical, mechanical, and fabric maintenance and project activities in London. Therefore, you will be carrying out routines unsupervised (PPM and reactive), diagnose and repair faults on electrical and some mechanical building services L8, AHU maintenance, fire alarms, remove, lighting testing, lighting repairs, pumps, motors, heating system fault finding and awareness (Heat exchangers, actuators, pipe work).

  • HVAC/ AHU plant
  • Cause and effect testing
  • Motors & Pumps including controls
  • PPM schedules
  • Generators
  • 3 Phase power supplies
  • UPS
  • LV/HV Distribution systems
What are we looking for?
  • Experience of leading a team of technicians
  • Comfortable carrying out duties independently and unsupervised
  • Well presented with good interpersonal skills as this is a client facing role
Maintenance experience
  • Trade trained with significant experience in building services
  • City & Guilds Electrical level 3 qualified or equivalent
  • 17th/18th edition
  • C&G 2391 Testing and inspection (preferred)
  • Experience of a CAFM system
