Job Description

FET is a world leader for the supply of Work Class ROV's (Remotely Operated Vehicles), Observation Class ROV's, Trenchers and Submarine Rescue Systems providing innovative solutions for challenging deep water intervention operations. Purpose:

Assembles and tests the electronic/electrical components, subassemblies and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities: (Key Tasks)



Assemble electronic/electrical subassemblies from schematic diagrams, drawings or verbal instructions and following works order instructions to ISO9001 standards. Wire and solder wiring harness and cable assemblies, PC boards, SMT, transformer assemblies, control consoles, connectors, etc. Carry out heavy-duty cable wiring, deck cable assembly, and control system outfitting. Carry out fault finding and repairs to PCB component level. Perform troubleshooting and testing of assemblies. Perform computer controlled operations. Ensure assembly/sub assembly build times and department efficiency targets are met for major project schedule into integration dates and tooling/spares WO completion dates. Complete all necessary documentation according to the requirements, (including timesheets, ECN...etc.) Carry out job tasks safely using good working practices. Carry out all assembly work to the required department quality standards ensuring good housekeeping. Other duties as assigned by manager.

Accountabilities: (Deliverables)

Education / Qualifications (desirable):



ONC in electrical/electronic engineering IEEE 18th Edition accreditation

Technical Competencies (essential):



Low voltage AC/DC panel wiring/looming High voltage installations Control/Data systems Fibre Optic handling/termination

Key Skills (essential):



Schedule/Quality/Safety awareness. Good communication and organisational skills Enthusiastic, conscientious and willing to learn new skills Team player Ability to read and interpret drawings and sketches Ability to work under pressure and manage specific details Some travel may be required on an adhoc basis

Experience (desirable):



Relevant experience in shop floor operations Relevant experience with production processes and equipment Good understanding of electrical/electronic systems is essential

QHSE Competencies:



Maintain behaviour in compliance with FET requirements. Maintain responsibility and accountability through personal commitment and behaviour. Report any unsafe or environmentally unsound acts and conditions to their immediate supervisor such that remedial action can be taken to manage the risk.
