Responsibilities:



We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electronics Engineer to lead complex engineering projects, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the development of cutting-edge products. As a Senior Electronics Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving innovation, ensuring technical excellence, and delivering high-quality electronic solutions. This position requires a deep understanding of electronics design, project management skills, and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.

1. Leadership and Mentorship



Mentorship:

Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior engineers. Foster a collaborative and learning-focused environment within the engineering team.

Team Leadership:

Lead electronics design projects from inception to completion. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, manage project timelines, and ensure adherence to project goals.

Decision-Making:

Make high-level engineering decisions that set the technical direction for projects. Drive best practices in design, development, and testing, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

2. Project Management and Strategic Oversight



Project Ownership:

Take ownership of complex electronics projects, from concept through production. Plan, execute, and deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Collaborate closely with software, mechanical engineering, and product management teams to ensure alignment with company goals and customer needs. Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders across various departments.

Resource Allocation:

Estimate project costs, manage budgets, and oversee resource planning. Source and procure necessary materials, tools, and equipment to support project execution.

3. Advanced Technical Expertise



High-Level Design:

Develop and review advanced system architectures, high-level schematics, and technical specifications for electronic products. Ensure designs meet functional, safety, and reliability requirements.

Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:

Address and resolve complex technical issues escalated by junior engineers. Lead root cause analysis and implement solutions to ensure long-term product reliability and performance.

Innovation and R&D:

Contribute to research and development efforts by driving innovation in product design and staying ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies. Participate in R&D initiatives that enhance product capabilities and market competitiveness.
Other Roles Will Include:

Equipment Assembly



Soldering Skills:

First class microscope soldering skills are required

Equipment Assembly:

Build, assemble and test the inspection equipment ready to be be sent out into the field

Equipment Maintenance:

Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on ultrasonic inspection devices, ensuring optimal functionality and reliability.

Troubleshooting:

Diagnose and resolve electronic and technical issues with inspection equipment, both in the field and in the workshop. Fault finding and repair down to component and board level.

Calibration:

Perform calibration procedures to maintain the accuracy and precision of inspection devices.

Quality Control:

Implement and adhere to quality control processes to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of inspection results.

Documentation:

Maintain detailed records of equipment maintenance, calibration, and repairs. Generate reports for internal and client use.

Collaboration:

Work closely with the engineering and operations teams to provide technical support and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements:



The ideal Senior Electronics Technician will need the following skills and experience:

Degree or diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Experience in leading an electronics and manufacturing team Electronics knowledge with a genuine interest in Electronics Manufacturing experience and ability to always work in the most cost-effective manner. 1st class soldering and rework skills. Soldering under a microscope PCB and product assembly with good manual dexterity Hard working and flexible to meet company and customer demands Able to read and interpret circuit diagrams; Bill of Materials and where required, kit out for production. Must be able to work independently and think for themselves
