Job Description

Coda Octopus Martech is a UK-based designer and manufacturer of bespoke electronic systems and special test solutions for defence, aerospace, subsea, and science applications. We are looking for talented, creative individuals who can demonstrate a strong aptitude for board-level electronic design with embedded firmware development. Ideally you will be a seasoned electronics engineer with experience in industry, able to develop circuits and systems from design specifications. Knowledge of mechanical electro-mechanical systems, working closely with other disciplines to deliver complete solutions would be an advantage.

Qualifications are important, but demonstrable skill, know-how, ability to innovate and solid track-record are more highly prized. For the right person, there is an opportunity to become chief engineer, and potentially be part of the management team.

Working on a diverse and ever-changing range of projects for high profile customers in, Industrial, Aerospace, Automotive, Sub-Sea and Defence engineering sectors, our engineers have the opportunity to engage in the design process from initial concept right through to product delivery. An ability to understand the customer's requirement together with an ability to innovate and produce creative solutions is paramount. In a addition to board level designs you will also be involved in the broader design and product development, engineering technology that is not only functional but solves less obvious customer needs and expectations.

Key Requirements

Candidates should ideally have experience in some of the following areas:

Electronic systems design

Embedded firmware (Microcontroller, PIC, Raspberry Pi, etc)

User interface software (Windows, Linux)

Product design

System testing

Fault diagnosis

As well as a demonstrable practical aptitude, enthusiasm, adaptability and a positive attitude and are of equal importance.

This role is nominally based at our offices on Portland, with the option to work from our offices near Dorchester. For this role we offer a competitive salary dependent on skills and experience and would be pleased to hear from all candidates that meet the above criteria.
