Climate17 are happy to be joining forces with an energy and environmental consultancy, who work from the planning application stage, through to handover and post-occupancy, helping clients meet ever-challenging environmental standards. Their aim is to provide innovative strategies that respond to increasing demands for quality and construction efficiency. They have a team of technical specialists who offer advanced levels of expertise and experience of the construction and development industry, and they tailor teams to suit each individual project.

The Role

You will have a passion for making buildings work for the people living in them, enjoy working with a range of disciplines and in return, you will have the chance to work with an environmental consultancy that acts as a trusted adviser to the leading players in the high-end residential sector.

Lead development of comprehensive and innovative strategies for building performance, including energy, overheating, fabric, whole life cycle carbon, daylight and sunlight and wider sustainability issues.
Advise clients on compliance with planning policy, building regulations and relevant technical standards (e.g., CIBSE, British Standards and building warranty requirements).
You will be joining a friendly, multi-disciplinary team of experts who will support you in delivering solutions on complex projects in line with company values and the needs of clients.

Requirements

  • At least 3 - 5 years\' experience in specialist consulting in the residential and commercial construction sector.
  • Relevant degree and background in architecture, physics or engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of at least one of the following: Dynamic thermal modelling, overheating mitigation, daylight and sunlight assessment, thermal fa\xc3\xa7ade analysis and condensation risk assessment.
  • Proven capability at working on multiple projects.
  • First-rate report writing and numerically literate.
  • Dynamic thermal modelling in Design Builder or IES.
  • 2D drafting in AutoCAD.
  • 3D modelling in AutoCAD or Rhino.
  • Thermal fa\xc3\xa7ade analysis using steady state heat transfer software such as Trisco or Solido.
  • SAP/SBEM Modelling.
