At Gordon Murray Automotive, we design and build some of the most advanced and exclusive vehicles in the world. We're now looking for a Senior Engineer - Body Systems to lead the development of cutting-edge structures and components across our vehicle programmes.

About the Role
As a Senior Engineer - Body Systems, you'll be responsible for the engineering, development, certification, and deliveryof body systems across our production programmes. You'll work hands-on with suppliers and internal teams to ensure every component meets exacting standards for performance, safety, and aesthetics.
You'll also play a key role in shaping the technical direction of the function -- mentoring engineers, driving innovation, and ensuring we deliver beautifully engineered vehicles on time and to spec.
What You'll Do
Lead the design, engineering and development of body systems (including, but not limited to: panels, closures, interiors, restraints, and structures).
Own the BoM, mass, timing, specifications, DFMEA, DVP, and engineering releases for your systems.
Manage suppliers and internal teams to deliver high-quality, manufacturable components.
Define and write technical specifications and attribute summaries.
Conduct feasibility studies, FMEA and risk assessments to guide design decisions.
Ensure DVPs and validation tests are completed to meet durability and compliance standards.
Collaborate closely with styling, quality, development, purchasing, and manufacturing teams.
Support issue resolution, root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
Promote best practices in CAD, design standards and engineering process.
Mentor engineers and contribute to function group strategy and innovation.
What You'll Bring
Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent).
Proven experience in the design and development of composite body systems.
Strong 3D CAD and 2D drawing capability (including GD&T).
Solid understanding of composites, closures, and structural systems.
Proven ability in project leadership, issue resolution and technical delivery.
Collaborative, proactive, and detail-driven mindset.
Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across functions.
