Summary:

The Displays senior engineer plays a crucial role in the business. The purpose of the role is to act as technical authority on displays / display technology and provide technical support, input and advise on correct solutions into new sales opportunities to enable growth, to own/manage and drive key customer display projects from concept to delivery plus support existing customers and RDS quality function technically on queries and solutions over lifecycle of products

The senior engineer will be the key conduit into the displays supply base and develop strong technical and commercial partnerships with all key suppliers/partners and support the displays division manager in development of new suppliers and technologies

They will focus on selecting the best solutions for customers and RDS with an agnostic approach to supply route, they will balance technical needs and commercial requirements to provide options and support to the internal and external sales team to enable their success

They will collaborate very closely with all main functions of business - Sales, engineering, quality, product management, finance, marketing and operations to ensure they understand status of quotes, projects , deliverables and technical /quality issues to enable high levels of customer engagement and service.

Key responsibilities

:

Sales support

Develop and provide the best technical and commercial display solutions to enable sales growth via sales team

Work closely with internal and external sales team to fully understand project needs, meeting customers directly as required to enable success

Taken on direct responsibility and delivery for assigned projects with ownership throughout project cycle inline with CRM / project management

Provide timely technical support to customers and RDS quality team to close out issues quickly and competently

Build internal relationships with RDS and associated Volex group companies

Technical

Act as technical authority on displays and display technology both internally and externally with continual review of new technologies

Develop strong sector knowledge and network

CRM knowledge

Continually seek to improve company procedures, standards and policies

Supplier Management

Understand fully our supply base, its capabilities and where their offerings sit within our target markets and customer base needs

Build partnerships with our display supply base and develop new suppliers as needs dictate

Work with division manager on commercial review and viability to maximise RDS benefit

Profile

Experience

Hands-on work with display module integration, interface boards, backlight drivers and touchscreens

Supplier and partner management of far east vendors/ supply chain

Performed electrical and optical testing of displays, touch panels, and driver systems.

Troubleshot issues related to display performance, touch response, and power efficiency.

Collaborated with R&D and manufacturing teams to bring designs from concept to production.

Familiarity with display measurement tools and reliability testing.

Customer interface and engagement

Skills

Strong knowledge of TFT displays, LCD, OLED, touchscreen technologies, and touch sensor integration.

Understanding of emerging display technologies and architectures.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Effective teamwork and cross-functional communication skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to 55,000.00 per year
