Amazon Logistics is experiencing unprecedented growth and seeking a dynamic Project Manager to lead mission-critical engineering and facilities initiatives across our rapidly expanding network. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to drive large-scale transformation projects from conception through completion, including new site launches, facility optimizations, and strategic infrastructure developments.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in UK regulatory compliance and statutory requirements while continuously elevating our operational standards. This position requires a strategic mindset to enhance existing processes, coupled with hands-on project execution capabilities. The successful candidate will own and deliver network-wide initiatives that directly impact our ability to serve customers and support Amazon's continued growth in the UK market.
Key job responsibilities
Lead and coordinate design efforts between internal teams and outside vendors to develop optimal solutions for Amazon Logistical network, including equipment specifications and Fulfillment Centre (FC) layouts.
Capital project management, including the preparation of conceptual designs, equipment specifications, and bid documentation to support a competitive tendering process
Provide frequent on-site monitoring and enforcement of installation schedules and vendor quality with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) vendors/subcontractors
Inspect prospective and completed facilities in accordance with corporate standards and procedures, ensuring proper follow-up on snagging lists and warranty work
Lead and coordinate between internal departments and MHE vendors for multiple installation sites
Develop and manage budget and contract documents including RFPs, change order controls, purchase orders, and invoicing
Coordinate with local site management to ensure proper operator training, procedural compliance, maintenance practices are followed for new and existing MHE
Create, submit and track the relevant CAPEX documentation to ensure that all projects are delivered on time and within budget
Work closely with the UK Real Estate, IT and Process teams along with the Software and Operations Integration teams to ensure on time project delivery
Understand the Operational process in detail, including all the relevant Warehouse Management System (WMS) tools used on a daily basis
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
Experience working with the designs of complex automated MHE, packaging technologies, and systems including robotics and high-speed manufacturing
Experience in technical leadership of developing, testing, and implementing of large-scale, complex technology projects
Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing, transportation and logistics, or fulfillment and distribution centers
Experience using MS Excel, MS Project, AutoCAD and commercial off-the-shelf technologies such as Tableau, SQL, or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in end-to-end project management, including strategic planning and execution
Expertise in complex MHE operations and packaging lines or process design utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles
Experience negotiating with internal and external stakeholders
Experience delivering results in a high-velocity, technology-driven environment while managing multiple concurrent priorities
Proficiency in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen
Ability to drive business impact through data-driven analysis and financial modeling, resulting in quantifiable improvements (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits)
Hands-on technical expertise in security engineering
Experience managing cross-functional projects in a fast-paced environment
