Job Description

Costain is working closely with Severn Trent Water on their Capital Delivery Framework, as part of its Capital Programme for AMP8. As part of the Design and Build Framework lot, Costain brings together its design, construction, and consultancy expertise to undertake renewal and refurbishment projects and will assist Severn Trent in its target to make continuous improvements to its safety performance, whilst ensuring continuity of supply and consequently lowering costs for its customers.


The Rugby scheme involves the design, construction, testing and commissioning of new assets to meet an AMP8 WINEP regulatory obligation to comply with new permitted dry weather flows. The scope includes 4 new FST's, a large ASP, inlet works upgrade, chemical dosing, various pump stations and other ancillary process equipment.



Qualification in Surveying with significant experience (preferably in the water sector) Experience of Pre Cast Concrete construction and FRC works will be advantageous Extensive Engineering Survey hardware and software expertise inclusive of CAD Relevant CSCS Card A commitment to punctuality is required to ensure timely delivery of Engineering Survey task in order not to delay the Programme EUSR clean water Hygiene Card

Setting out, control and monitoring to allow the placement of pre-cast and insitu concrete sections of the Elan Contact Tank to within tight tolerances Setting out of internal tank M&E items as required Setting out services related to temporary and permanent works inside and outside of the perimeter of the tank as instructed Quality checks/ inspections as required throughout the course of the project Work closely with the Senior Civil Engineer to proactively identify TQs & RFIs ahead of critical path to mitigate any programme delays Attend progress meetings as requested Attend the daily pre-start meeting/briefing Adhere to the STW site security procedures and protocol Adhere to all Costain and Severn Trent Water Health & Safety rules Actively monitor the programme and attend / contribute to collaborative planning sessions to ensure the Works can progress efficiently and as planned Completion of SSRs, CTRMs as and when required by the project * Follow Costain policies and procedures
