What will you be doing?





As a Senior Environment Advisor for BESInfrastructure, you will be the go-to expert for ensuring our projects protect the environment and meet the highest sustainability standards. From planning to delivery, you'll guide teams to embed best practice and deliver lasting positive impact.



You will:


Lead environmental management across multiple infrastructure projects (including Network Rail and National Highways). Provide expert environmental advice and hands-on support from tender through to project close-out. Develop and maintain project-specific Environmental & Social Management Plans (ESMPs) aligned with ISO 14001 and client requirements. Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, permits, consents, and client standards. Plan and deliver environmental inspections and audits, managing any non-conformities and corrective actions. Collate environmental performance data for internal and client reporting, including ESG reporting. Engage with clients, regulators, landowners, and community stakeholders to support project delivery. Deliver environmental training, briefings, and toolbox talks to build team competence. Support sustainable procurement, supplier due diligence, and environmental monitoring across contracts.

To join our team, you will need:




Professional status: Full membership of a recognised environmental body (e.g. MIEMA, CEnv or equivalent). Significant experience in environmental management within construction or infrastructure projects. Knowledge of:

+ UK environmental legislation and permitting
+ Construction-phase controls and ESMPs
+ Pollution prevention, waste, and materials management
+ Ecology, biodiversity, carbon, and energy management
+ ISO 14001 environmental management systems
Desirable: Experience in rail and knowledge of Network Rail standards (e.g. NR/L2/ENV/015); familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 45001. Skills and behaviours:
