Senior / Principal Environmental Consultant - Renewables
Edinburgh
Salary up to \xc2\xa345,000 dependent on experience
Introduction
Astute are proud to be partnered with a leading Developer within the Renewable Energy industry, who are looking for Senior / Principal Environmental Consultant to join their growing team based out of Edinburgh. The successful candidate will support the delivery of renewable energy developments including wind or solar farms across the UK, from the feasibility studies stages through to co-ordinating EIA and final planning application submissions.

The successful candidate will have a proven background as an Environmental Consultant, coordinating EIAs, providing environmental advice and services in support of renewables or infrastructure projects.
Roles & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the development of renewable energy projects throughout their entire development cycle, from initial feasibility studies, to coordinating Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and submittal of planning application stages.
  • Supporting other teams with business development efforts to help them engage with existing clients and others to expand the wider portfolio and network.
  • Provide technical advice and leadership on environmental matters and areas.
  • Creating and managing written technical reports to facilitate the delivery of EIA.
  • Taking charge of conducting consultations with local authorities, communities, and statutory consultees.
  • Preparing tender documents and proposals for project costs.
Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
  • A demonstrable background in providing Environmental Consultative services is essential, preferably within the renewable energy industry.
  • Degree qualified in Environmental, Engineering or a relevant field of study.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the UK Planning System and EIA.
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in the environmental and technical aspects associated with renewable energy project development.
  • Demonstrable success in project management, with the capability to effectively plan and execute tasks within budget and adhere to project timelines.
  • Proficient in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), showcasing exceptional problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and expertise in writing technical reports.
  • Possess a valid UK Driving Licence for transportation purposes.
  • Chartership would be an advantage but is in no way essential.
Salary & Package
What\'s on offer for this exciting role:
  • Starting Salary from \xc2\xa335,000 to \xc2\xa345,000 depending on experience
