Senior Estimator

to join their expanding team in

Christchurch, Dorset

Our client operates across southern England and delivers a wide range of high-quality projects across sectors including industrial, defence, commercial, retail, and education. With a turnover of 50m+ and a strong project pipeline, this is a rare opportunity to join a secure and forward-thinking business at a senior level.

Role Overview

As Senior Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in the pre-construction team--leading the preparation and submission of competitive, first-principles tenders across a range of sectors. You will work collaboratively with directors, planners, buyers and the commercial team to ensure well-structured, commercially viable bids are submitted.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the estimating process for civil engineering and general construction projects Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and project scopes Prepare detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities Engage and negotiate with supply chain partners Participate in tender adjudications and bid presentations Identify opportunities for value engineering and risk mitigation Support handover to delivery teams following successful tender

What We're Looking For

Significant estimating experience within general building Strong technical and commercial understanding of NEC and JCT forms of contract Skilled in estimating software such as Conquest, Causeway, or similar Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple concurrent tenders A collaborative team player with excellent communication and organisational skills HNC/HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or Construction Management
