Senior Estimator

Our Energy Business Unit are delivering the backbone of tomorrow's energy grid. We're strengthening our engineering capability to deliver major overhead line (OHL) and transmission projects across the UK. We're now seeking a Senior Engineering Manager (OHL) to lead engineering delivery across high-voltage transmission schemes from concept to completion.

The Role:

As the Senior Estimator, you will deal with all elements of pricing, including civils and M&E for the design and build of Energy transmission assets, including substations, overhead lines and underground cable. Knowledge of Energy transmission with substations experience is required, overhead lines and underground cable is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Analysis of works information Quantity take-offs Development of activity schedules Management of subcontract enquiries and quotation adjudication Pricing of civils from first principles Development of pricing strategy Presenting pricing strategy to senior leadership team and ownership of pricing governance Client relationship management Supporting the central team with development of benchmarking databases

The Candidate:

Skilled estimator with experience of pricing >10million schemes Knowledge of Energy transmission with Substations, overhead lines and cabling preferred Qualified to HNC standard as a minimum Ability to take-off quantities Proficiency using Conquest estimating software Creating Excel reports Cost planning knowledge and experience An understanding of construction technology and innovative techniques

About our Energy business unit

We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.



Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair and refurbishment services.
