Work closely with the Events Team Leader to support the organisation and delivery of all events at the Kent Event Centre.
Perform the role of Events Team Leader in their absence, ensuring continuity of service and leadership.
Take an active role in achieving revenue targets by:
- Proactively selling and promoting venue spaces and services.
- Generating new leads, nurturing enquiries, and converting them into confirmed bookings.
- Upselling additional services such as catering, AV, equipment hire, and extended hire periods.
- Maximising revenue from each event through value-added sales where possible
Work alongside the Events Team Leader to design and implement clear procedures for managing the client journey -- from initial enquiry, through event delivery, to post-event follow-up and repeat business.
Support financial reporting by tracking event income, contributing to forecasts, and assisting in budget monitoring.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring repeat bookings and long-term partnerships.
Prepare and manage detailed function sheets, including agendas, catering requirements, AV needs, and operational set-up, ensuring client specifications are met in full.
Provide on-the-day coordination, acting as the primary client contact and ensuring seamless delivery.
Represent the Kent Event Centre at networking events, trade shows, and exhibitions, actively promoting services and developing business opportunities.
Kent County Agricultural Society Events
Support the planning, organisation, and delivery of Kent County Agricultural Society events, including the Kent County Show and charitable activities.
Take responsibility for coordinating a designated section of the Kent County Show, ensuring it is effectively planned and delivered in line with event objectives.
Provide wider administrative and operational assistance across multiple departments for the Kent County Show and other Society events, as required.
Assist in preparing site maps, layouts, and operational planning for society-led events.
Support volunteer management, ensuring effective communication, briefing, and on-site coordination where required.
Ensure all events adhere to health and safety standards, including assisting with risk assessments and compliance documentation.
Event Development & Operations
Support the Events Team Leader in negotiating supplier contracts and reviewing contractor performance to achieve best value.
Identify new revenue streams and suggest initiatives to increase profitability.
Monitor and report on sales activity, pipeline progress, and revenue outcomes against targets.
Provide administrative support across the events programme, including raising invoices, updating databases, and ensuring accurate financial and client records.
General Tasks
Respond to client enquiries promptly and professionally.
Ensure timely and accurate invoicing, financial tracking, and reconciliation for events and suppliers.
Assist with hospitality coordination, including occasional hands-on support during busy periods.
Be available onsite or on call for event clients as required, including evenings and weekends.
Act as an ambassador for the Kent Event Centre and Kent County Agricultural Society at networking and industry events.
Undertake additional responsibilities as directed by the Events Team Leader or General Manager.

Essential Experience
Excellent administration and organisational skills.
Proven experience within the events industry, with demonstrable success in sales and revenue generation.
Strong customer service focus and ability to build long-term client relationships.
Proven ability to upsell services and maximise revenue from existing clients.
Experience of working to commercial budgets and targets.
Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience of using a CMS (Content Management System).
