The Bermuda Monetary Authority is seeking the services of a skilled and capable individual to work as a Senior Events Specialist within the Corporate Affairs Department. Reporting to the Assistant Director, the successful candidate will be passionate, creative, detail-oriented, and provide excellent customer service to our internal and external stakeholders. This position requires excellent leadership skills, the ability to meet expectations for quality and think big picture, while managing the daily details, to ensure truly unique experiences.


This is a key role for the Authority and the post-holder will be responsible for but not limited to:

Leading and taking ownership of all internal events and, when needed, leading and/or supporting external events Managing the securing of event space, equipment, food and banquet requirements, entertainment, participant activities, give-a-ways, etc. Leading and implementing all aspects of events and meeting strategies and planning requirements for small to large complex events, ensuring the timely and effective implementation of all operational aspects Providing regular updates to department management and, when applicable, to internal stakeholders on event progress Preparing briefs, creating program documentation, including agendas, event portfolios, overviews, and proposals Establishing and maintaining relationships with prospective and current vendors Managing the internal event management system Evaluating event outcomes and preparing reports and feedback to department management Contributing creative ideas and innovative solutions to enhance event experiences Remaining current (or ahead of the curve) with trends in event planning, design, and production, and proactively identifying and solving operational challenges Serving as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their needs, and ensuring client satisfaction Managing onsite events, overseeing a full events schedule and delivering exceptional event experiences Utilising creative problem-solving throughout the planning cycle, consistently looking for ways to deliver more effectively Creating engaging Intranet content and support videos Performing other related work and special projects as assigned by management in accordance with competencies normally associated with the post
This position requires a proven technical and business background. Therefore, the post-holder must have:

A Bachelor's degree, preferably in Events Management or a similar field A minimum of five (5) years' experience in event management Proficiency in event management software and technologies and CRMs Experience in CoPilot, Canva, Microsoft Office, and AI Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients, vendors, and team members Ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively Creative thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
