Colchester Institute are looking for a highly organised and motivated
Senior Exams Assistant
to join our Exams and Timetabling team. You'll play a vital part in ensuring all internal and external examinations are completed accurately, efficiently and in compliance with JCQ and awarding body regulations.
Working closely with colleagues across the college, you'll coordinate exam entries, schedules and results, support students with access arrangements, and help ensure a smooth and positive experience for everyone involved. You'll also contribute to improving our exam processes and maintaining the highest standards of service.
Job Title: Senior Exams Assistant
Main Responsibilities
Prepare and process exam registrations and entries by set deadlines
Liaise with curriculum teams, awarding bodies and the Additional Learning Support team
Organise invigilation, exam rooms and materials in line with regulations
Maintain accurate records and data within college systems
Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, students and external partners
Support the training and coordination of invigilators
Promote excellent customer service and efficient administration across all exam processes
About You
You'll be detail focused, reliable and confident managing multiple deadlines in a busy environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential, along with a commitment to accuracy and great customer service. Previous experience in an exams or education administration role is desirable but not essential.

Essential Qualifications:
Education to level 3 or above and/or a professional qualification in relevant subject area or equivalent
Minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics GCSE 4+ or C and above / CSE Level 1 / O-Level C or above / Level 2 Adult Numeracy or Literacy or equivalent
Essential Experience:
Experience of working with complex databases for data collection, input, tracking and reporting.
Experience of dealing with people at all levels and of all ages, both in person, on the telephone and communicating by letter/email
Administrative experience in a busy office environment
Excellent IT experience, including Microsoft Office products to produce clear and accurate communications, using information from databases and a wide range of communications media
