Tyre Hill House can accommodate up to eight families and has been renovated to a high standard reflecting our trauma informed and therapeutic ethos. Our aim is to keep families together when it is in the best interest of the child.
We are looking to appoint passionate and committed Senior Family Support Workers who can quickly engage and build positive relationships with parents and possess the values and qualities needed to support families undertaking a residential parenting assessment. Senior Family Support Workers work a 4 week shift pattern (each shift is 12.5 hours).
Whilst it's important to have experience working with children and families, you will be trained to adopt a trauma informed PACE approach (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy) and apply these principles in your daily practice with families and colleagues.
Overall, you need to be committed to achieving lasting positive change for parents and their children. You will be observing and delivering interventions with families which requires you to be empathetic, organised and have strong communication skills. You will need the ability to mentalise others, and confidently apply safeguarding practices where necessary.
You will be expected to record accurate and objective records which will be to inform the parenting assessment. The records you complete are legal documents which will be submitted as evidence to the Family Court.
You will work with the management team on a day-to-day basis, complete handovers/de-briefs, help co-ordinate the diary and act as a first point of contact for queries or concerns raised. We are seeking a candidates who possess a flexible and agile approach to the work.
