Senior Field Applications Scientist

Your role in our team:

We are looking for an outstanding Senior Field Applications Scientist (FAS) to drive market adoption and ensure customer success for bit.bio\'s ioCells portfolio of products. This individual will provide premier support and field technical enquiries from our customers and partners.

The Senior FAS will leverage their experience in genome editing, iPSC reprogramming, cell culture, and high-throughput screening to set up assays relevant to customer research goals leveraging our platform\'s capabilities. This person will conduct training, design projects, address technical enquiries and troubleshooting to drive repeated purchases. Unparalleled care for the user experience and support from the FAS team is critical to maintaining bit.bio\'s sales momentum and growth.

They will also relay customer feedback to Sales, R&D, and Marketing teams to optimize the customer\'s user experience.

The role will require some travel - avg. of 30 - 40% of travel in UK, Europe and USA.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Establish and manage a FAS function that can support bit.bio\'s growing customer base in drug discovery and academic markets.
  • Develop best practices and infrastructure for customer support: revise and develop training documents (user manuals, FAQs, video tutorials, online protocols), maintain tracking methods for customer\'s technical enquiries, revise/develop technical presentations.
  • Deliver exceptional pre/post-sales applications support; educate customers on the use of our technology and help them conduct their experiment to maximize their research success.
  • Understand the customer\'s research requirements to help them design, implement, analyse and interpret their experiments. Thus, building the scientific credibility of the FAS, ioCells and technology platforms.
  • Work with sales representatives, supporting their efforts to identify, develop and close high-value sales opportunities that meet/exceed revenue targets for OTS products and partnership deals.
  • Support the development of new applications for our range of ioCells, opening opportunities to penetrate new markets. This will require working in the laboratory from time to time to generate new data requirements obtained from customer feedback and market research.
  • Persuasively deliver technical, customer-facing seminars covering a variety of scientific research areas, applications, products, and data related to bit.bio\'s technology platforms and cell products.
  • Act as a customer advocate by communicating internally information related to product feedback, competitive intelligence, market trends, and effectiveness of marketing, positioning, and field tactics.
  • Work alongside Product Management and Marketing in new product launches and promotions. This will involve training on new cell type assays, adding to product launch strategies by identifying existing and new customers for demos and data generation, aiding in developing protocols and user manuals.
  • Manage and field incoming technical enquiries. This will require strong organisation, documentation, and prompt communication with relevant stakeholders to ensure a response is provided in a timely and effective manner.
  • Support a network of early access and KOL customers to drive the awareness and reputation of our platform and deepen customer relationships with scientific leaders.

  • Have a Ph.D./ Master\'s degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field with demonstrable experience (post-doc or industrial).
  • Are highly motivated with the ability to work independently and in a dynamic team environment.
  • Have the ability to motivate others to achieve high quality standards.
  • Have the ability to develop solutions to complex problems that require innovation and collaboration.
  • Have strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to effectively deliver technical presentations, handle customer issues and work collaboratively to support the efforts of the sales team. Proficiency with verbal and written communication in English is a must.
  • Have the ability to manage multiple customers (internal and external), be organised and provide a solution in an efficient manner with short turnaround time.
  • Have the ability to learn quickly and work in a highly innovative, fast paced start up environment, collaborating closely with other cross functional and geographically distributed teams.
With essential experience in\xe2\x80\xa6
  • Research and/or commercial experience in one or more of the following areas: CRISPR-based genome editing, iPSC reprogramming, cell culture, cell assays, high throughput screening applications.
  • Experience in supporting customers for a reagents or instrument provider in the life sciences industry with demonstrated commitment to customer success.
  • Experience in the demonstration, setting up and troubleshooting of reagents or instruments in life sciences research laboratories.
  • Experience in successful experimental design, interpretation, troubleshooting and optimization.

  • Working language proficiency in German, French, Spanish, Italian, or any of the Nordic languages would be a plus.
  • Ideally, familiarity with/expertise using a CRM software.
