We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Finance Analyst to join Penguin Random House Finance team on a 12 month fixed term contract (could be potential secondment opportunity).

As a Senior Finance Analyst, you will be the key finance support for the Rights team, this will include month end, quarterly reporting, budgets and forecasts and reporting on the Rights overhead cost centres.

You will analyse the performance of the revenue generated by the Rights team, including analysis at a divisional and company level and at title and author level.

You will prepare robust analysis on authors, titles, or markets to aid decision making within the Rights teams and Publishing houses, including all revenue and costs associated with that area.

Reporting into the Finance and Commercial Director of Publishing, you will be an excellent communicator across the business and be able to convey financial information to stakeholders outside of finance.

We are looking for someone who can work effectively and inclusively within an organisation, demonstrates resourcefulness and is able to work independently and under supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of monthly overhead Rights cost centres including Invoice checking and coding
  • Budget and forecast preparation
  • Communicating with internal partners, e.g. Publishing and Group Finance, Royalties & Rights
  • Conveying financial information to non- financial colleagues and stakeholders
  • Preparation of regular analysis of performance e.g. trend analysis
  • Communicating with external partners e.g. Auditors and any other relevant company for Publishing House
  • Understand revenue and costs associated with Publishing and ability to follow accounting practises within the Group
  • Adhering to accounting policies both internal and external
  • Proficient on internal systems
  • Improving reporting on the rights area
Dealing with any adhoc analysis that Finance and Commercial Director requires including potential consolidated of publishing finance data across the business

Key Technical Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
  • Good excel skills including pivot tables, macros and what if statements
  • Working towards a professional accounting qualification or qualified (ACCA, CIMA)
  • Financially astute with proven skills of working with financial data
  • Strong relationship builder
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good time management and prioritisation skills
  • Highly organised
  • Good experience within a finance role over a number of years
  • Power BI or Power query experience would be advantageous

Salary: \xc2\xa330,000 - \xc2\xa345,000 depending on how your skills and experience align to the role
