We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Finance Assistant, this role has scope for promotion. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of financial principles.
Full-time - permanent
Monday to Thursday 08.30 to 17.00 / Friday 08.30 16.00
28 days holiday per year inclusive of bank holidays (holidays increase 1 day every 2 years to a maximum of 7 additional days)
Duties
Sales Ledger:
raising sales invoices, being a point of contact for customers, credit control, managing currency variations
Purchase Ledger:
processing purchase invoices, and producing monthly supplier payment runs
Bank reconciliations
Expenses & Credit Cards:
Processing staff expense claims, communicating clearly with staff if they have queries, and processing company credit cards
VAT returns
Month End Close
Payroll:
End to end processing of payroll, including FPS, submitting pension contributions and being the first point of contact for employee queries
Collaboration & Communication
: Act as a point of contact for internal stakeholders, providing them with accurate and timely financial information. Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with both internal and external teams.
Ownership:
Take ownership of your entities, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and accurately with minimal supervision. Be proactive in addressing issues and resolving challenges.
Process Improvement:
Continuously assess and implement improvements to financial processes and systems for greater efficiency as the business grows.
Office Administration:
Answering telephone, providing quotations to customers, processing sales orders (over telephone or by email) Shipping orders daily by DPD/TNT/Fedex/UPS/DHL.
Other ad hoc duties & reporting as required to support the Finance Manager
Assisting and costing year end stock take
R&D tax calculating
Person Specification
AAT qualified or equivalent, strong QBE candidates also considered
3+ years' experience in a similar role, with demonstrated ability to take ownership of it
Strong understanding of accounting principles
Experience with payroll desired
Experience of Sage 50 Accounts required - minimum 3 years
Understanding of customs process and requirements
