Senior Finance Business Partner
Here's what you'll be doing
We are seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner to join our Business to Business (B2B) Finance team on a 12-month Contract, based at our Solihull office. This is a hybrid role, requiring 2-3 days per week on-site.
As a Senior Finance Business Partner, you'll be Business Partnering with the O&M business as well as supporting larger Mergers & Acquisitions projects outside of New Business. In addition you will support the delivery of the MTP, assist in planning and reporting across the business, and provide comprehensive insights on monthly performance.
Key responsibilities
Develop key performance indicators and use financial and operational data to identify risks and opportunities, helping drive business performance. Produce actionable performance reports using EBS principles and coordinate internal WD3 and EIS WD4 meetings.
Collaborate with the wider team to establish a structured and effective forecasting process that aligns with EIS and Group planning requirements. Ensure accurate system reconciliation and high-quality forecast packs with clear, consistent messaging.
Provide real-time support and analysis and support to O&M business, delivering insights that add value and inform decision-making.
Build and manage strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the B2B business, acting as a delegate for the Finance & Commercial Manager where required. Engage closely with the EIS leadership team.
Identify opportunities for efficiency and automation within reporting and planning processes. Partner with the business to enhance financial management reporting and champion continuous improvement initiatives.
Support on developing and driving investment cases, business planning, performance reporting, and ensuring robust governance and controls.
Conduct post-completion audits.
Prepare the Annual Asset Impairment Paper and testing.
What we need from you
Qualified accountant with membership of a recognised professional accounting body (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
Proven experience in finance business partnering, with a strong understanding of commercial operations.
Strong expertise in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Demonstrated ability to support decision-makers and consistently deliver high-quality outputs under pressure.
Self-motivated and capable of working independently, with a track record of initiating and driving change.
Adaptable, with a proactive and dynamic approach to problem-solving.
