About The Role


Working Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time

This role is subject to -
  • Qualification- Possession of the AAT qualification or a commitment to study and as appropriate the drive and self-discipline to study for completion of CIPFA Professional Qualification.
  • BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance - this post is subject to BPSS checks. You will therefore be required to consent to and comply with BPSS checking requirements prior to commencing in this post. This check involves verification of identity; nationality and immigration status; employment history (past 3 years) and basic criminal record check.

The role will report to the Principal Finance Manager and is part of the Adult Social Care and Public Health Finance team. This will be a challenging and varied role and the post holder will:
  • Contribute to, and lead when required, monthly revenue budget monitoring and reports to senior officers.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the delivery of organisational objectives.
  • Support the closedown of accounts.
  • Support the team in wider budgeting and accounting work as required.

About the Candidate

The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:
  • Experience in budgeting, monitoring and year end close down.
  • A sound understanding of local government finance.
  • Ability to analyse large volumes of data and translate into accurate, consistent, and understandable results.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Plan and organise workloads to ensure that tasks are successfully completed within set deadlines.
  • Ability to work on their own initiative to deliver the priorities of the team whilst driving improvements.
  • Be motivated, enthusiastic and dependable.
