Serco is undertaking a significant finance transformation, reshaping how core finance processes are executed, governed and enabled across the UK business& we are therefore seeking a Senior Finance Manager - Reporting to lead actuals reporting and planning facilitation within the UK Finance Hub. This is a senior leadership role with end-to-end accountability for the integrity, timeliness and control of financial reporting across the UK Division and its Joint Ventures. This role drives strategic process improvement, owns critical financial controls and liaison with the external auditors and fosters effective business partnering to resolve issues and enhance transparency. As a senior leader, they are accountable for shaping the operational strategy, building and managing high-performing on-shore and off-shore teams, and delivering continuous improvement in compliance and process efficiency, data integrity, and stakeholder engagement.
What you'll be doing
Own the execution of actuals reporting and planning facilitation during and following finance transformation.o Lead month-end close governance, ensuring accurate, timely and well-controlled reporting.o Retain accountability for key balance sheet accounts and reporting controls within scope.o Drive root-cause analysis and remediation of recurring reporting or data quality issues.o Lead external audit activity relating to reporting and planning processes.o Act as a senior business partner to Business Unit Finance Directors, the Divisional CFO and Group Finance.o Work closely with Global Process Owners to align UK reporting execution with global process design.o Identify opportunities for automation, digital enablement and improved use of ERP, analytics and data.
What you'll need to do the role
Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).o Senior experience leading financial reporting within a large, complex organisation.o Strong understanding of P and balance sheet reporting, with the ability to engage credibly on reported results and forecast impacts.o Proven leadership within a Shared Services or centralised finance environment.o Strong financial control and external audit experience.o Track record of delivering process-led change within reporting or R2R environments.o Ability to influence& collaborate with senior finance and operational stakeholders.o Experience supporting finance transformation programmes.o Strong background in a FTSE-listed or similarly complex, matrixed organisation.
