This established US law firm based near City Thameslink are looking to hire a qualified or QBE Senior Finance Manager to oversee the day to day operational accounts functions for the London and European offices.

The role will see you reporting to the Director of Administration and the CFO in the US HQ, whilst managing a small accounts team of cashiers and revenue. You will monitor the day-to-day quality control of operational accounts, client and offices accounts, client billing, VAT returns, budgeting, month end procedures and compliance. This is a very hands on role suitable for an experienced legal accounts professional who has completed the ACCA/CIMA or QBE and is comfortable handling themselves in a client facing transactional accounting position. Successful candidates must also possess strong report writing experience and have a good understanding of SRA / COFA regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise the day-to-day finance operations of the London and overseas offices to include but not limited to Billing, Accounts Payable, Cashiering, preparation of VAT and other jurisdictional returns and providing responses to requests for information
  • COFA oversight- undertake and be appointed by SRA to ensure that your firm and its managers and employees comply with any obligations imposed upon them under the Accounts Rules; ensure that a prompt report is made to us of any serious breach of the Accounts Rules which apply to them. Attend and participate in quarterly compliance meetings
  • Perform ad-hoc analytics by becoming familiar with and using the firm\xe2\x80\x99s various data stores and reporting tools
  • Ensure completed and update records for Anti-Money Laundering - monitor new matters opened and follow-up with secretaries to ensure form completion
  • Provide research and reports to internal departments and vendors with respect to various accounts payable, general ledger and related accounting inquiries related to the London and European offices
  • Oversee the London and overseas office\'s credit cards and 3rd party costs including research and reconciliation
  • Manage the London Accounts team including training, appraisals, etc
  • Access to on-line banking for stop payments and paid check information
Candidate will have 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a senior level finance role within a law firm, preferably international and managing a small finance team. Additionally you will possess;
  • Strong working knowledge of Elite 3E
  • Sound knowledge of the Solicitor\'s Accounts Rules, operating as COFA a bonus
  • Impeccable time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload, to have a flexible approach to ensure all deadlines are met
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Reliable and trustworthy and possess a willingness to learn whilst maintaining an exceptional eye for detail
  • Not afraid to give feedback to others when managing a team, take on performance management and take a robust approach to ensuring accounts processes and procedures are followed
This role offers a hybrid working structure of 4 days in the office 1 from home and is offering a highly lucrative salary plus great benefits The firm operate on 9.30-5.30 hour however candidates must be willing to work overtime as business needs require.
