Job Description

Job Purpose



The Senior Finance Specialist is responsible for managing financial transactions, banking activities, and accounting operations to ensure financial accuracy and compliance. This role supports the financial reporting process, maintains strong internal controls, and acts as a liaison between the company, tax authorities, and external service providers. The Finance Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity of the company's operations while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities



1. Financial Operations



Make payments and manage all banking activities Record daily incoming and outgoing bank transactions Reconcile accounts related to investments across both supplier and bank accounts Manage petty cash expenses per employee and report open balances accordingly Increase control environment for ongoing investments Collaborate with administrative functions to ensure accounting accuracy

2. Accounting & Reporting



Support accounting activities on all levels including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank operations, importation of goods, and financial statement reporting Make necessary checks by taking trial balances of debit and credit accounts at month-end Follow up on debts and receivables Ensure reconciliations with companies Manage the company's consolidation of accounts

3. Compliance & External Relations



Support preparation of monthly declarations to the tax office on time
Ensure tax compliance in all aspects including special regimes applicable to the company such as Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) within the investment and operation phases of the company

Manage relations with tax administration, various legal entities, and outsourced service providers Follow up on negotiations with external parties accordingly Liaise with CIMPOR Portugal and accounting firm in the UK Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including anti-bribery and anti-corruption regulations

Key Skills & Experience



Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
Broad knowledge of tax and accounting

Proficiency in managing banking operations and financial transactions Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes Knowledge of financial controls and reconciliation procedures Broad knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and general accounting principles Ability to manage multiple financial tasks simultaneously Strong communication skills for interacting with various stakeholders Problem-solving abilities and proactive approach to financial issues Experience with financial reporting and statement preparation Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Experience in SAP (essential)

Qualifications



Bachelor's in accounting, finance, or relevant degree Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred
