We are now seeking an experienced
Senior Fire & Flood Restoration Technician
to join our team.
Role Overview
As a Senior Fire & Flood Restoration Technician, you will take a lead role in delivering complex restoration projects, mentoring junior technicians, and ensuring that works are carried out to industry-leading standards. You will often act as the senior point of contact on site, managing jobs from initial assessment through to completion while maintaining strong customer relationships.
This role is ideal for an experienced technician ready to step into a more senior, responsible, and rewarding position.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Technical Responsibilities
Attend and manage allocated jobs using the on-site job scoping app or manual documentation.
Lead on more complex or high-value restoration projects, ensuring work is completed to the highest standard.
Conduct thorough site assessments, moisture surveys, and damage evaluations.
Recommend and implement appropriate drying regimes, fire cleaning procedures, and restoration solutions.
Carry out advanced fire, flood, and specialist cleaning tasks, including deodorising and media blasting where required.
Oversee packing, listing, and removal of contents to storage locations.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of technical reports, job notes, and customer documentation.
Leadership & Support
Act as the senior technician on site, supporting, guiding, and mentoring less experienced technicians.
Assist in the training and development of junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices.
Provide technical advice to colleagues and the admin team where required.
Customer Service & Communication
Build strong working relationships with customers, insurers, loss adjusters, and contractors.
Act as the primary on-site contact, communicating updates, managing expectations, and ensuring satisfaction.
Maintain a positive, professional, and solutions-focused approach at all times.
Health & Safety / Standards
Uphold and enforce Health & Safety procedures on all sites.
Maintain an organised, safe, and professional work environment.
Ensure company vehicles, tools, and equipment are clean, well-maintained, and compliant with statutory standards.
Protect and represent the company's image through professional behaviour, appearance, and service delivery.
Other Responsibilities
Participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota and work away from home when necessary.
Contribute constructive ideas to improve operational efficiency, quality, and profitability.
Demonstrate commitment to continuous personal development, staying up to date with industry standards and techniques.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential
Significant experience in fire & flood restoration or a similar property restoration role
Strong understanding of drying techniques, moisture mapping, fire cleaning processes, and restoration methodologies
BDMA Technician or equivalent
Full UK driving licence (max 3 points)
Proven ability to lead on-site operations and support junior colleagues
Excellent communication skills, with confidence dealing with customers and insurers
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
Ability to produce accurate, detailed, and concise reports
High standards of personal presentation and professionalism
Physically fit and capable of manual handling and working at heights
Reliable, self-motivated, and solutions-focused
Desirable
IPAF / PASMA certifications
First Aid qualification
Media blasting experience
Towing licence
Experience with specialist cleaning equipment (DOFF, TORC, etc.)
