Job Brief
Fuzion 4 has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced technician/engineer to become our Senior Technician and become a part of our growing team. This is a key role where you will be responsible for aiding and supporting Fuzion 4's team of technicians, as well as ensuring that the Company adhere to all British Standards & NSI Codes of Practice. The role requires an experienced, flexible, and highly motivated individual who is capable of working under their own initiative and as part of a team. You will be required to interact with customers, colleagues, and external organisations and therefore it is important that you can demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. This is a hybrid role (office/field based as required).
Responsibilities & Duties
The position requires you to serve as the primary point of contact for field technicians and the admin team. As the Senior Technician, you will oversee quality control, uphold high standards of workmanship for both preventative and corrective maintenance, as well as installations.
Primary duties will include:
Problem solving and technical resolutions of all system types.
Carry out technical audits in accordance with NSI Codes of practice.
Carry out health and safety audits.
Creating reports for managers.
Direct contact with customers and manufactures.
Review new products, bench test and write reports.
Keeping abreast of relevant industry changes.
Provide support with training and toolbox talks.
Assisting and supporting the technical helpdesk manager
Additional duties:
Assist with compiling RAMS
Assisting with project management and complex designs
Assist with contract reviews Assist with emergency callout cover (not on the callout rota)

Hours of Work:
Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 5pm with a 30minute unpaid break for lunch
Salary:
42,000 - 45,000 per annum (subject to experience)
Signing on bonus:
1,000 joining bonus (Subject to qualifying terms).
You will be provided with the following:
22 days paid holiday plus all UK statutory Bank Holidays (increases with time served)
Enrolled into company pension scheme after 3 months (opt out if you choose)
Ability to create clear, legible, and accurate reports
Ability to successfully diagnose system issues and rectify
Exceptional practical knowledge on intruder alarms, CCTV, access control and fire alarm systems
An understanding of IP and networking (structured networking and networking of systems) would be advantageous
Extensive product knowledge
Reasonable knowledge of health and safety
Awareness of environmental issues that affect a specific system or piece of equipment
Previous supervisory experience may be advantageous
Good understanding of industry regulations and standards.
Fluent in the English language, both spoken and written, as well as being literate and numerate.
Excellent customer service skills.
Have the ability to correspond clearly, concisely, and politely with your work colleagues and customers whether by telephone or written communication.
Be fully conversant with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook and be able to use them in accordance with the company standards.
Qualifications
GCSE English and Maths to at least grade C/4.
Should the below qualifications not have already been achieved, there will be an expectation for the successful candidate to pass these courses within the first 6 months in the role.
NSI Product Auditing
NSI Qualified Auditor Course for fire and security (to current standards)
Essential Requirements
Full UK Driving Licence
Ideally a minimum 8 years-experience in the Fire & Security industry
To be familiar with the companies' policies, procedures and guidelines which are set out in the Employee Handbook. Particularly, those associated with Health and Safety.
To undertake training and development essential for the role.
To complete a 6-month probationary period and participate in annual appraisals with your line manager to monitor performance and set objectives.
To undertake any other reasonable duty, at the same level of responsibility, that has been requested by senior staff.
