Job Description

We are currently seeking to employ a Senior Fire Engineer to work for our client, a design and build construction company based from their head office in Wakefield.
As the Senior Fire Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation and management of fire safety strategies in various sectors. You will ensure compliance with fire regulations and safety standards, conduct fire risk assessments and work with stakeholders to implement effective fire safety measures.
Key Responsibilities and Skills:
Fire Safety Strategy Development:
Senior Fire Engineers are responsible for creating comprehensive fire safety plans for diverse projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
Design Review and Analysis:
They analyze designs to ensure they meet current fire safety regulations and provide bespoke solutions to address unique fire engineering challenges.
Fire Risk Assessments:
Conducting and monitoring Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) to identify hazards and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
Stakeholder Communication:
Acting as a key point of contact for clients, contractors, and approval bodies, ensuring compliance and quality throughout the project lifecycle.
Technical Expertise:
Possessing in-depth knowledge of fire behavior, fire protection systems, and relevant legislation.
Leadership and Team Management:
Leading and mentoring junior fire engineers and technicians, ensuring productivity and safety.
Project Management:
Managing fire engineering projects from inception to handover, ensuring successful delivery while maintaining a client-focused approach.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Relevant Degree
Ideally a bachelors degree in fire engineering, a related engineering discipline, or architecture.
Experience:
Significant experience in fire engineering consultancy or a similar environment, with a strong understanding of UK legislation and guidance.
